NEW MUSIC: Young Martyrs Release New Single ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’

Bath’s alt-americana four-piece, Young Martyrs, are set to captivate listeners with their new single, “Is There Anybody Out There?”, which is scheduled for release on April 3rd, 2026. This track marks the first glimpse into their upcoming third studio album, “Might Just Be Enough”, expected to drop in the summer of 2026. The anticipation surrounding this release is palpable, as the band has been known for their emotionally resonant music that blends Americana influences with rich lyrical storytelling.

Recorded at the renowned Real World Studios in Bath and Indefra Studios in Frome, the single showcases the band’s self-production skills, with co-production from Sebastian Brice and engineering by Ben Koch. The final touches were added by Christian Wright, a master engineer known for his work with artists like Ed Sheeran and Laura Marling, at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. This pedigree of production promises a polished and immersive listening experience for fans.

Musically, “Is There Anybody Out There?” features a meditative soundscape, characterized by a pulsing delay pedal, melancholy guitar chords, and haunting melodies. Vocalist Tom Corneill’s soft yet impactful delivery conveys a sense of longing and introspection, perfectly encapsulating the song’s themes of connection and the passage of time. Corneill describes the track as a reflection on feelings of being adrift, loss, and the bittersweet nature of nostalgia. He articulates that the song resonates with anyone who has ever felt disconnected from their past or the people they once cherished.

The accompanying music video is touted as the band’s most ambitious project to date. Shot by Quite Brilliant, a production company known for its work with major artists like Coldplay and Biffy Clyro, the video was directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Tim James Brown. Filmed at Twickenham Studios, the visual narrative aligns with the song’s themes, depicting the band in a literal sense of being adrift—this time, in space. This creative choice adds a compelling layer to the song’s exploration of isolation and yearning.

As Young Martyrs gear up for this release, it’s clear that they are poised to make a significant impact in the alt-americana scene. With their rich sound and thoughtful lyrics, “Is There Anybody Out There?” is set to resonate deeply with listeners, making it a must-listen as we move into 2026.
