We’re really excited about this one, Big Thief are big favourites here at Coasters For Beers and they have just dropped two more singles “Grandmother” (ft. Laraaji) and “Los Angeles” lifted from their upcoming album Double Infinity, out 5 September.
“Grandmother” is the first time that the trio, Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, and James Krivchenia, have written a song all together. “Grandmother” tackles generational love and pain, with Lenker singing: “It’s alright, everything that happened, happened / So what’s the use of holding? It’s unfolding / We’re all insane / We are made of love / We are also made of pain.”
Luckily for us, she concludes with “Gonna turn it all into rock and roll”. Hear the song below:
“Los Angeles”, on the other hand, is straight-up classic Big Thief slow burner, brimming with emotion about past lovers turning into friends, ““I’ll follow you forever. Even without looking. You call we come together”.
Big Thief will head out on the first leg of their Somersault Slide 360 Tour in support of the upcoming Double Infinity in September including their largest headline show to date at – Los Angeles’s Hollywood Bowl Tickets are now on sale via the Big Thief website.
There’s a promise of more shows to be announced – we’ve got our fingers crossed for UK dates to be announced soon!
