Austin trio Portrayal of Guilt have released two new tracks, “Object of Pain” and “Death From Above”, alongside visuals that complete the rollout for their upcoming album …Beginning of the End, out 24 April via Run For Cover.
The new singles follow earlier releases “Ecstasy” and “Human Terror”, and give a clearer idea of where the record sits. There’s still the same abrasive core, but it stretches further out, pulling in elements of industrial, alt rock, ambient and heavier electronic textures without losing the intensity they’ve built their reputation on.
Over the last decade, Portrayal of Guilt have shifted constantly between styles without settling into one lane. Early material leaned into screamo and black metal, but later releases pushed into industrial, post metal and even more experimental territory. This new record feels like it pulls those strands together rather than moving away from them.
…Beginning of the End was recorded and mixed by Phillip Odom between March and June 2025, with mastering handled by Will Yip. It marks their fourth album in eight years, and their third with Run For Cover.
The band are also set to appear at Roadburn Festival 2026, before heading out on a full North American tour starting in May, including a hometown show in Austin. Dates run through the US and Canada with support from Pg. 99, Taraneh, Halloween and The Infinity Ring across different legs.
